The light is coming back after the dark winter season here in Sweden. Birds are singing, it’s starting to grow outside and it’s also time for a new mystery crochet along. Feeling of Spring CAL !

 All information below is available in Swedish on Järbo Garns blog! 

While the spring sun is shining we will crochet a table runner inspired by the spring together. It will be perfect to put on a table during spring and summer.

I hope that you will join this crochet adventure and that I will get to see as many lovely creations as in the last CAL 🙂

The finished piece of Feeling of Spring CAL will be like a classic rag rug table runner but with lovely details like lace, leaves and flowers 🙂

The pattern includes both a written description with images from the process and diagrams. The table runner is mainly crocheted with standard stitches and all other stitches have a thorough description and corresponding image. The pattern is free and will be posted in English (US terms) here on my blog and in Swedish on Järbo Garns Blog. You are also welcome to join our Facebook group “Vårkänslor CAL” (Feeling of Spring CAL in Swedish) if you have questions or just want some inspiration. The main language in the group is Swedish but it’s perfectly fine to write in English as well.

Material

Yarn: 6 skeins (300 g) of  Järbo 8/4 from Järbo Garn (100 % Cotton, “Mercerized & Gassed”).
1 skein (50 g) each of color A and D. 2 skeins (100 g) each of color B and C.

Hook: 3.0 mm

Size

The size of the finished table runner is around 32 cm wide and 92 cm long (without fringes).

Colors

I have put together 3 spring color combos for the summer bag:

Crocus

Color A: 32080, Color B: 32000, Color C: 32090, Color D: 32074

Grape Hyacinth

Color A: 32058, Color B: 32010, Color C: 32008, Color D: 32081

Tulip

Color A: 32084, Color B: 32000, Color C: 32089, Color D: 32079

If you do not like any of these color combinations you don’t need to be sad, Järbo 8/4 is available in lots of colors. If you chose your own colors it can be good to know that color B and C are used as background colors while all the details are made with color A and D.

If Järbo 8/4 isn’t available around you  any other mercerized cotton yarn in fingering weight will do as good 🙂
